You always wanted to find out where our Beautiful Silk came from? Enthused by what you saw in our “Story of Silk” CD? Yes? Then our Silk Production tour is for you. IT IS A ONE WEEK SOJOURN INTO THE WORLD OF SILK scheduled for May 10-20, 2009.

Price is yet to be announced but it will be around $4400 plus airfares. You’ll be thrilled with our eight-day tour of silk factories, where you’ll see every process from the harvest, steaming, boiling, spinning, throwing & weaving. You'll also visit silk museums and silk markets, silk farm villages, silk farms and silk shops. This is the last tour in this area of China taken by beautiful Silks, as we like to move on and do different textiles things, if you have wanted to do this tour don't miss out, this is the third and last Shanghai Textile Tour.

THE TOUR

What’s included?
All accommodation, breakfasts,  lunches and five evening meals are provided.  Your eight-day tour will be in the company of like-minded silk-aholics in air-conditioned comfort with an English-speaking guide experienced in the silk industry. It includes  all transport, guided tours of factories, eight lunches, six evening meals, eight breakfasts daily and all admission costs.  Vegetarian options available.  There are 12 seats only in the 2009 tour.  Shanghai accommodation at Shanghai’s Hyland Sofitel, in central Shanghai and very close to such tourist attractions as the Shanghai Bund, and several art galleries.

What is not included?
You’ll need to provide only your airport transfers and two meals in the entire trip, plus of course your personal items. You must however provide your own travel insurance, medication, and insurance against the tour being cancelled in the event of SARS. You must also provide a declaration that you are fit to travel overseas on long flights.
