Beautiful Silks announce a Southern Hemisphere follow-on event to both ISEND2011 and the UNESCO Natural Dye conference in Hyderabad 2006.

A meeting of artisans from far and near, a celebration of the natural world, here in the concrete jungle of Fitzroy.

Look forward to exhibitions and seminars, museum visits, a range of workshops and tours of natural places in the city.

The committee is open to Expressions of Interest for workshops, lectures and associated exhibitions in Melbourne or Brisbane, please contact Marion with your proposal.

One year out we already have 70 persons who have emailed expressions of interest. We can seat a maximum of 140 and many workshops can only take 15 participants. Space is limited so sign up soon!

What do you get for your registration fee? Registration does not include the price of individual workshops, but it does include the Opening Night,''Nature's Colours in the City" to be opened by very special person in textiles, Janet deBoer..... Registration essential. Followed by David Higgins (Save our Species) Lecture presentation.

It also includes

  • the registrants' only Networking Night, on Thursday evening 28 June; featuring an exhibition of natural dyed scarves and garments from the organisers’ and some lecturers’ own outstanding collections.;
  • specialist lecture on poisonous plants;
  • the price of a copy of the on-line journal to be published before the symposium;
  • the “highlights” DVD to be published after it.

Registered early birds will also be able to participate at half price in the textile and markets orientation and sightseeing tour of Melbourne (regular cost $50; early bird price $25).
