Wild Tussah is grown in the Nothern part of India, it cannot be cultivated but is husbanded by careful watchers. All of these tussahs have been woven by master craftspeople. The production of tussah depends on the natural environment being able to produce silk worms and cocoons. These are gathered from the woodlands: the art of developing the yarn and weaving these fabrics has been carried on for generations. These craftspeople are increasingly being marginalised through political and economic upheaval.
