Sustainable yarns

Our yarns vary in sustainability. As a rule of thumb, silks are friendly where they are made and have less impact on the local environment. To get these yarns they must travel and most of our yarns come into Australia by ship. Where possible we choose the least impact option in our transport. We do stock New Zealand organic wool, this is on the wool yarns page wool Yarn number 26. Recycled silk yarn from India is sustainable in the way that the products for the raw materials are accessible for the producers at a reasonable price and can be a wealth creating product - waste to wealth production is good in that it turns waste into usable beautiful products.
