Philomena Hali: Carrying Wisdom- Vessels from Silk Fibre and Kozo Bark & Degumming Silk

Join and share learning from one of the most exciting tutors sharing her knowledge of sculptural form from natural materials. You will learn to manipulate sericin gum filled silk fibres and Kozo bark into sculptural shapes. (see far right image, degummed organza with arashi shibori, Phil Hali) Tuition also includes using shibori techniques to degum stiff silk textiles.

Two information rich workshop days - two workshops - 12 people limit.
Cost : $265.00 per person for both days, $140.00 for one day. Fee includes 250 gr starter fibre pack and enough materials to at least finish one piece.
Tutor Profile:
Philomena Hali lives in Alice Springs, frequently exhibits her work and teaches regularly. She exhibits fine skills in her own work and imparting that knowledge to others. She did teach at Beautiful Silks in 2008, we are very pleased to offer these workshops.
